Great facility, staff.

My mom received excellent care.
reviewed on: 06/05/2015 by Norman JohnsonMy mom was 94 when she had a fall at home after the flu left her weak and unable to get around on her own. At that point she required around the clock care which was more that we could provide in our own home. We were so thankful to find The Madrona House where trained staff is there around the clock 7 days a week. Their kind employees cared for her just like she was their own mom and were mindful of her special food needs. They helped her with all the things that she was no longer able to do for herself. Mom enjoyed getting to know all of the nurses, CNAs, and housekeeping staff who came to her room to check on her, took her for walks in her wheel chair, and brought her to the dining room for meals. The amazing staff made my mom feel special and treated as a person. We couldn't be more satisfied with the excellent care she received at The Madrona House.
10 years of caring experience with Bainbridge Senior Living
reviewed on: 07/21/2019 by DaughterMy mother was a resident with Bainbridge Senior Living for nearly 10 years, 7 at Madison Avenue and 3 years in the Memory Care unit at Madrona House. The staff are wonderful and caring individuals at both facilities and, overall, I was very pleased and my mother was loved and well cared for. As with all senior living facilities, there were occasional rough times when they were understaffed with experienced personnel - but management was always open, listened to the families, and took corrective actions when needed. The respect and dignity staff showed my mother and me during her final weeks and days was truly wonderful and comforting.
Mom
reviewed on: 06/02/2015 by Diane ShorettAfter my mother had a stroke and later broke her leg in three places, she needed 24 hour care, as even after her summer in the nursing home she still had a boot and later a brace, and had short-term memory loss. Madrona house memory care has been great, with very helpful, friendly staff and many activities and a very personal feel, also great food and the fourth floor has a lot of sunshine and nice views, and the facility is close to town and gives beautiful bus rides in the wheelchair accessible bus. Our price is higher than many units as we are renting a bedroom and a sitting room and my Mom has had a higher level of care than some others. She lived in Madison Avenue House for the three years prior to this in assisted living and it was another great experience for her in a difficult time, after my father passed away and leaving a rental house and having to give up her car and independence due to her stroke.
Madrona House--My Mom is thriving in this caring community!
reviewed on: 04/18/2019 by Danna BrumleyMy Mother has been a resident at Madrona House on Bainbridge Island for nearly a year. As she is suffering from Alzheimer's disease, she is in need of 24 hr care. My father had done all he could for 6 years, but it was too much for his 80+ years! Though these transitions are always very difficult, the staff at Madrona was incredibly kind and did all they could to help us through it. Their sincere sympathy and caring attitudes went such a long way in assuaging the inevitable guilt and self-doubt that accompanies making the decision to move your loved one into a care facility. The best part is that my Mom is thriving! She is eating better and healthier and the staff were thoughtful (and experienced) enough to suggest she be served finger foods or have her food cut up so she could feed herself (as she is no longer able to hold utensils). She gets exercise, she has friends and she adores the daily music and many other options provided by the wonderful Activities Directors. Finally, I must commend the Madrona Staff for their deep commitment to constantly improve their quality of care and also for helping the residents' families adjust to this huge change by holding monthly social gatherings, meetings with helpful speakers and topics and providing much needed resources for this new phase of life. I feel exceedingly grateful to have Madrona House in our community. If you can no longer care for your loved one at home, there's another kind of family that can provide the care in a professional way, but just as important; in a compassionate way.
