reviewed on: 08/10/2019 by Gregory E Keyes, M.D.As a physician on Bainbridge Island I have worked closely with the staff at Madrona House since it's opening. The staff is caring and attentive. The facility is clean and attractive with attention to making the experience for loved ones inviting and attractive. The dementia floors are the nicest I have seen in the area of my practice. Dementia care has special challenges that require adjustment in care that are difficult. I have had confidence that the nursing and administrational staff have always approached those challenges in a kind and intelligent manner with the resident's best interest as their prime directive. I would not hesitate to have a family member reside there if the situation were to arise.
My mom received excellent care.

At that point she required around the clock care which was more that we could provide in our own home. We were so thankful to find The Madrona House where trained staff is there around the clock 7 days a week. Their kind employees cared for her just like she was their own mom and were mindful of her special food needs. They helped her with all the things that she was no longer able to do for herself. Mom enjoyed getting to know all of the nurses, CNAs, and housekeeping staff who came to her room to check on her, took her for walks in her wheel chair, and brought her to the dining room for meals. The amazing staff made my mom feel special and treated as a person. We couldn't be more satisfied with the excellent care she received at The Madrona House.

reviewed on: 07/21/2019 by DaughterMy mother was a resident with Bainbridge Senior Living for nearly 10 years, 7 at Madison Avenue and 3 years in the Memory Care unit at Madrona House. The staff are wonderful and caring individuals at both facilities and, overall, I was very pleased and my mother was loved and well cared for. As with all senior living facilities, there were occasional rough times when they were understaffed with experienced personnel - but management was always open, listened to the families, and took corrective actions when needed. The respect and dignity staff showed my mother and me during her final weeks and days was truly wonderful and comforting.
Committed and Caring Staff

I moved my parents from the east coast. This was a very big decision and we have no regrets. The staff is caring and committed to each and every resident. My parents feel safe and well cared for. Communication with staff and management is productive, effective and positive. I am thankful to have my parents living so close to me in a facility that respects my parents and supports me and my whole family in a process that is not always easy.

If you are looking for a warm and comfortable environment for an elderly loved one, this is the place. From the minute you walk in the door to the smiles of the staff at the front desk to the caregivers who treat the residence with love and respect, you will find a very caring environment. Following a stroke my mother became a resident here. The entire staff was very helpful accommodating her new needs and helping her adjust to the many changes in her life, making her transition smooth. Care givers checked on her often in her first weeks, giving the family peace of mind. She looked forward to seeing them every day. Madrona House is not only beautiful, it is warm and inviting not only to its residents but to guests as well. Let’s talk about the food… a culinary trained chief oversees the preparation of three excellent meals a day offering some of the best cuisine, right up there with fine dining restaurants. They also offer holiday dining for family at Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. What I believe separates this facility from others is the care and compassion provided by the caregivers, nurses and other staff members (some you never see). I am in total appreciation of their dedication, and genuine willingness to make sure our loved ones are safe and happy. I believe these caregivers and nurses are Angels watching over our loved ones.
