good for the most part
reviewed on: 06/01/2015 by AnonymousMost of what I have seen about Commonwealth Assisted Living at Hampton has been good, but there is some area for improvement. I really like the facility. It is very nice, warm, welcoming, and well kept. The food sometimes is not as warm as it should be when it comes out. The rooms are well kept for the most part. They can be a little slow answering the buzzer when I come to visit. Sometimes I can be standing outside waiting for twenty minutes or more. Most of the staff is very good, but then there are others that need to step up their game.
Our experience at Commonwealth
reviewed on: 03/30/2021 by anonymousI think if you have someone who is truly assisted living capable, it would be okay. If you have someone who has extensive needs, there's not enough care provided. And that's not their fault - they're just not set up for that. On top of that, it's been very difficult not being able to go in and see our loved one. From what we can see, the common spaces are clean, and the individual rooms a little less so. That could be due to Covid, and/or an expectation that the resident to be able to do some level of cleaning. Some of the care staff do a great job and watch carefully, but others do not. Our loved one tells us she loves most of the people who interact with her, that they're very gentle and sweet. One or two she has described as rough/harsh, which is hard for her. She's had a couple of hospitalizations in a few months time, which is concerning to us. There was a nurse who thought our loved one was crying wolf when she couldn't breathe, which was also concerning. Recently there has been a leadership change, and we really do like the new director a lot. He seems to really care about people and is very friendly. So I believe that things will continue to improve with him here. The cost is a bit high, but it's reasonable compared to other facilities, and it really is a nice facility. They have lots of activities, there's a hydroponic garden the residents can participate in, and there are lots of porches for them to sit outside.
We are very happy with it, they are very nice people.
reviewed on: 03/07/2014 by Family MemberWe are very happy with it, they are very nice people. The only thing is the parking, if you go during the day parking is limited and it can be hard to park. The Value is very good! They were very reasonable compared to other places we saw. The food is good depending on personal taste and what the meal is that time.
