Community Reviews
Personal, customized care provided with respect
reviewed on: 12/23/2016 by Pat in LongviewMy father has lived at The Ashley Inn for a little over six months. Both caregivers and management have made a real effort to find my father's preferences and needs. I appreciate the respect he has been shown. Every effort is made to make sure that his freedom of movement and action is not restricted, unless required for the sake of his health or safety. Services are not provided unless they are needed. The facility is run for the clients, not for the convenience of the staff. The pricing for care is based on overall requirements, rather than enumerating everything. Requirements change over time, and are re-evaluated to reflect resources required. The pharmacy used by The Ashley provides medication in pre-measured doses ("blister packs") to reduce the chance of incorrect medication. The price seems reasonable, compared to other pharmacies who do not provide this level of service. The staff is very consistent in administering medication.
Loving Care at The Hampton
reviewed on: 12/31/2016 by Bonnie SeaseI chose The Hampton for my mom's vascular dementia care after viewing numerous facilities in Vancouver. The difference in the way staff interacts with "residents" is immediately apparent. My mom is treated like family, with love, and respect for the difficulties she endures with increasing dementia challenges. I also appreciated the pricing policies wherein everything is included in the monthly fee...no extra charge for bedding, furniture, towels, washing clothes, meals, snacks or distributing medicine. No surprises on the billing is a relief for family. The activities and entertainment is superb so Mom is never bored and I find myself choosing to visit her during specific times so I can enjoy the musicians as well. Mom, at 88-years-old, has been here for eight months and is so well adjusted now that recently she said "They do it all for me here. Wash my clothes. Cook my meals. Take of my medicine and entertain me as well. You should move here with me."
Thanks, Hampton Inn
reviewed on: 04/29/2015 by AnonymousWe are happy with my mother-in-law's care at the Hampton Inn. She enjoys the activities (especially singing), and is constantly commenting about "all the nice people there". When I am visiting she is often greeted by name by a staff member walking past us. We appreciate the willingness of the staff to work specifically w/ her needs to see she has the best of care and quality of life.
Great caring place
reviewed on: 07/15/2021 by David SmithsonI toured this facility with my parents while looking for potential memory care/assisted living facilities. We showed up with relatively little advance notice and toured the memory care wing of their facility. I was extremely impressed with both the facility and the staff. There's a large garden which can be accessed by residents and the layout lends itself to getting back to your own room if you tend to wander some. The staff were also impressive - even the marketing director knew each of the patients by name and enough of their backstories to interact/redirect them. We were accompanied for a short time by a very sweet resident who just wanted to tag along. We saw residents were clean and well cared for and the staff clearly cares here. While my parents aren't quite ready for memory care yet I'll be keeping this place in mind down the road if it becomes necessary.
Not One Negative Experience
reviewed on: 07/24/2017 by AnonymousThis community is the best one and my mother-in-law loves it. The staff are excellent, the community is lovely and the staff have been working with us. I highly recommend A Place For Mom many times. We did not know where to go and we were very thankful for the help. The family approves the community and she likes the food too.
