Community Reviews

A Great Place to Live

reviewed on: 07/25/2016 by Julie

I moved into Mennowood the first week of June. In the short time that I have been here I have been pleased with all phases of the community. The food is very good. There are always alternatives to choose if you do not want the planned meal. The dining room is very nice with damask table cloth and napkins. The servers are pleasant. They make an effort to get to know you and your preferences. If you request coffee after the meal just once, they will check with you each time to see if you want it again. The staff is friendly and helpful. I was helped carrying in my boxes on moving day and they helped me with some assembly of my furniture. If you need help moving furniture or maintenance assistance, it is just a phone call away. There is no excuse for being lonesome or bored. There are activities all day long, every day. There are small rooms, a living room, sun porch, etc. to sit and visit with other residents. There are outings planned each week with a wide variety of destinations. It has been a very pleasant move.

Nice community

This is a very nice community and the staff did a really great job on our tour here, they took their time showing us around and they answered all our questions. I just did not feel that this was going to be a good fit for my father and that there would not be enough going on to keep him busy.

The people there are the nicest group of people that you would ever meet.

The people there are the nicest group of people that you would ever meet. They are very accommodating. They try hard to make you happy. They do their best on looking after you. If I had anything to say that is not my top rating it would be the food. It's not bad, but it could be better. For the independent living the prices are very reasonable. The people are very caring. Everything I have to say about the Mennowood is very good. They are excellent. (Care Services & Activities are not applicable)

Positive Review

We started using Mennowood as a weekend respite for our mother who is 89 and has some dementia. Everyone was friendly, kind, caring and professional. They took very good care of our mother. Everyone remembered her and her needs each time we went. So when we determined it was time for her to have continuing care that we could no longer provide for her, we turned to Mennowood. We believe it is because of their staff that our mother made such a good transition to living there. There are many activities which they ensure she has the opportunity to participate in (and she does). The meals are very nice and each person is given personal attention by the wait staff. Every thing is always clean and tidy. The building looks more like a home than a facility. We have the highest regard for everyone at Mennowood and recommend that you consider making an appointment to see if it meets the needs of your loved one.
