Appreciating Fox Trail's Efforts
reviewed on: 05/19/2021 by KarenI would highly recommend Fox Trail. It's an older facility, built in the 80s maybe, so don't expect the most modern amenities. But that's not what 's critical. It's the staff and how they're taking care of the patients. And I have every confidence they have done that to the best of their ability. When my loved one was moving in, his room was impeccably clean. But then there was a reduction in staff, and it was not as clean. The public areas have always been impeccable, but I would have liked his bathroom to be cleaner. The people there were very friendly, very attentive, and most of the staff was really, really good. As an example of how much my loved one appreciated them - when we left, he gave corsages to every staff member, including the men to give to their wives, as a thank you. He loved to give flowers to people. When he talked about the food, he would tell me that certain foods were good - he loved their breakfasts. Some meals he liked a lot. Comfort foods like beef stew and chicken and dumplings were his favorites. And other meals he liked less, which is pretty typical of just about anybody. They had been without an activities manager for some time, and they just hired one shortly before we left. I was impressed with the young woman they hired. She had all kinds of plans. The senior staff, especially the director, was outstanding. On the 1-5 scale, I'd give her a 7. She was direct, she always called me if she had a question, and she always let me know what was going on. She and I got along very well. She was great with the residents, and she was willing to get down and wash the floors like the rest of the staff. She was willing to roll up her sleeves and do anything and was very friendly with anybody she came across. One of the staff members who helped us move in said she would work 7 days a week for this director, that she had been there forever and was very happy there. When you hear staff talk about a boss that way, that really says something. Not too many of us can do that. I was impressed with the value - I thought the cost was very reasonable considering what they had to do for my loved one. And in comparison to friends with husbands in other facilities, Fox Trail was less by several thousand dollars. When we left, I told the director we'd see them in about six months. I know my loved one's health is going to go downhill again, and I would definitely take him back there.
Very small!
reviewed on: 01/11/2017 by AnonymousThe Amerisist was a very small community and my grandmother was used to a larger home. The rooms were overall very small and were due for a refresher. The staff were very friendly, though, and greeted us with a packet of information and seemed very prepared for us.All of the staff knew the residents by name and seemed to engage with them very well.
So far, so good
reviewed on: 10/01/2013 by BrianIt seems to be going well, off-hand I haven't had any issues, they're taking care of everything. The transition seems to be pretty good, with the disease I'm not too sure what she thinks, everytime I go to see her she asks when she's going home. I know they do activities but I'm not so sure if they do memory loss ones. It's pretty nice for an older place and I'ts in pretty decent shape from what I've seen. I liked that it was one floor and it was smaller so it seemed like she would get more personal attention.
No complaints - 24 hour service
reviewed on: 06/15/2013 by No Name GivenOther places we went to we observed people diong activities with no real engagement with their residents. At Amerisist of Manassas the person running the activity has everyone fully engaged, laughing, enjoying it, there are one-on-one interactions. We chose Amerisist because they fully involve their residents in activities and because of the smallness of the place. There are about 23 residents there compared to other places that had 80 or more. The residents greet me when I visit and seem very happy.
