Wonderful place!
reviewed on: 01/23/2015 by AnonymousEverything at The Hermitage has been fantastic so far. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, and were right there for us throughout the whole sales and move-in process. The facility itself is clean and well kept, and the room they had available was just right for the loved ones that we were searching for. They even do a great job with the food! I would give them top marks across the board, it really has been a great experience!
Peace of Mind and Better Health
reviewed on: 03/15/2014 by psicariSince moving into the Hermitage, my Mom has improved significantly in many ways. Being "forced" to eat the majority of her meals in the main dining room is a major contributor to this. First, she's eating more nutritionally balanced meals which is helping with her energy levels. The moving about from her unit to the dining and back is creating a level of physical activity that had been fading and causing other health related issue. This subtle form of exercise has been a big improvement. The social element that comes from both the dining arrangement and the other residents has been good for her mental well-being. She's also been participating in the exercises class, which is not typical for her at all, but again, has been extremely positive. The staff is very caring, friendly, and attentive. All in all, it's been a great experience for all involved.
They do a fantastic job with the care...
reviewed on: 02/13/2014 by Loved oneThey do a fantastic job with the care here, and watching out for Mom's overall health. She's in a safe environment with caregivers who are really on top of things. When I was looking into care options for her I looked through 5 years of the state health inspection records and this facility was one of the best in the state. They've really proven themselves. My Mom fell ill a few weeks ago, and an employee immediately realized it was more than just a cold or a flu and rushed her to the hospital, and the doctor told us if she had come in any more than an hour later she would likely have died of pneumonia. Another really great aspect of this community is that their maintenance department is outstanding. Any problems or simple installations you have (shelves, bathroom fixtures) they'll take care of quickly and professionally. They do have a few area I'd really like to see them improve on, however. Number one is the food. It is absolutely terrible. My Mom complains constantly, and I eat there myself once or twice a month and meals served for dinner have been uniformly awful. They are either tepid or outright cold. The activities also are not good. They are poorly organized and not advertised to the residents well. Those issues aside this really is a safe place, and the care they provide is amazing. I would recommend looking into this place during your search.
We are very much satisfied so far.
reviewed on: 04/23/2015 by AnonymousWe are very much satisfied so far. They are doing a pretty good job with the food, I eat there a lot, and so does my family and they enjoy it. It probably is a little more seasoned that most elderly folks like, though.
