reviewed on: 10/25/2017 by Rodney BoatrightOver three years ago my 91 year old Mother needed assisted living. I looked at several places near my home and carefully evaluated them all. I chose Independence Hill which was also highly recommended by friends of mine who had been through the experience or knew someone else who had done the same. It has turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made in a while. I visit my Mother frequently and I know, from first-hand experience, it is a great place. My Mother is doing very well there and likes it very much. The facility is quite nice; very clean, well maintained and pleasing to the eye. The staff is very knowledgeable caring, and the caregivers are outstanding. They have many really great activities for the residents and they serve excellent meals. I strongly recommend Independence Hill to anyone looking for assisted living for a relative.

From our personal experience, the care Dad has received has been outstanding. 24/7 the staff is ready to assist at whatever level is required. Every need is met, and most "wants" as well. The menu is outstanding, tastes great, and is most of all healthy; his Type II Diabetes has all but disappeared since eating better and more regularly. His apartment, too, is well maintained, cleaned, and things freshened up on a weekly basis. I don't know what we would have done had we not taken that first step and contacted IHAL.

I can't put into words the value we have gotten, even just from being able to sleep at night without a phone call at 2 am. It's clean, and nice. There are no complaints about food or entertainment. The staff and especially the administrators have been just outstanding, answering every question. They have just been great.

My mother has thrived at Independence Hill Assisted Living. She regularly participates in crafts and activities that are cleverly designed for the residents! She also frequently attends resident excursions several times a month. However, the biggest compliment I can list for Independence Hill Assisted Living is that ALL the staff work to help my mother daily from the administration, to the dining room, to the care givers. I would rate them 5 stars in every category as I could not find a more caring and sincere staff.
