Found by Happenstance and Ever Glad!

reviewed on: 02/04/2015 by Shirley and Bill Sprout

We found Brightwater by happenstance and are we ever glad! We were exploring potential homes for longtime friends and our friends and our first impression was over the top. Brightwater is filled with beauty everywhere and the home-like feel grabbed us immediately. We found the staff to be especially welcoming and the residents very friendly. The many programs for wellness, entertainment, and socializing help keep us active and involved. Before moving to Brightwater, we looked at many options in several states, but none offered everything on our wish list. We decided to move while physically able because it was important for it to be our decision and not a burden on our children. After our first year here, we can honestly say it has exceeded our expectations in almost every measure. Besides all that, winter in South Carolina is a delight compared to Ohio. We have found a home!

Review of Brightwater

It is great not to have to deal with plumbers, roofers, electricians, etc. There are great wellness classes to keep you moving and activities to go to for entertainment. It is also great not to have to cook or clean up often.

Great activities, great employees and a wonderful facility.

I am a minister in the Myrtle Beach area. I have been to a lot of the senior communities in the area. My favorite is Brightwater. I am always greeted by a warm, inviting employee and they work to answer my questions about room numbers and where best to find my friends. I love the Activity teams and all that is going on. Can't wait to retire.

Never a Dull Moment

One thing you can say about Brightwater is that there is never a dull moment. You can go on trips to wineries, visit beautiful Brook Green Gardens, go on boat rides on nearby lakes and rivers as well as enjoy a wide variety of in house and outside entertainment. If you like to read and do crafts there are several from which you can choose. The variety of events means that there is something for all tastes. Sometimes it is just pleasant to sit outside, enjoy the beautiful surroundings, soak up the sun, and chat with your neighbors. Recently, I have become a member of the Resident Advisory Council, editor of the Brightwater newsletter, and chairman of the Book Keys book club. This involvement has allowed me to give back to the community that I love so much.

Benefits of Selecting the Brightwater Lifestyle

reviewed on: 04/25/2015 by Anonymous

Attended an informational presentation after previously hearing a presentation of the Brightwater facility's various attributes. Toured one of the apartments and the stand-along home, both of which were quite nice. People seem friendly and the other amenities available are quite nice. The process for selling a current residence and moving to Brightwater seems quite comprehensive & client-friendly. It is good to know that such a facility exists for when the time comes that we need additional downsizing & more assistance with daily living. A very nice alternative to owning and managing your own home. In addition to the initial living arrangements, should the time come when a resident requires more assistance, the other facilities are within the same complex for easy access. Rather than have to be sent to an off-site facility for care, an easy change can be made to provide exactly the type of care needed.
