My tour experience

reviewed on: 05/21/2021 by anonymous

I knew pretty quickly this wasn't where I would have wanted my mom. The people there were so very sweet, and there was nothing wrong with the tour or the facility. It was just the difference between staying at your aunt's old house vs. living in a nice hotel, which was the type of community we chose for her in the end. We were looking for more of a luxury experience.

Thank you!

Mom and dad were residents here for around 6 months and I was witness to how well they were taken care of. When mom passed, we had to look for another memory care san marcos facility and dad moved to [website removed] due to his worsening Alzheimer's. Both did a great job with my parents. The caregivers were great both here and at Silvergate and we are forever grateful. It did my heart good to see them well cared for. Thank you!!

It is a good community

So far our loved one has not complained about the meals and dining so we assume it is pretty good. Our loved really enjoys the activities they offer, and we do think the value for cost is right in the middle.

They were like family

My sister was only in the Buena Vista Senior Care facility for a short time before she passed. But in that short time, [name removed] and the other staff treated us like family. And we loved the intimate and supportive feel of the place. We would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for care of a senior loved one.

Overall we're happy with Aegis of Granda Hills.

Nobody's perfect, but we're happy with them. They seem attentive to our loved one. I do feel like you need to be on top of things. When I'm not visiting as often, I feel like I start noticing things that need to be addressed. But I think that's the case with any care place. Wherever you choose, it's important for the families to be involved. When we've had concerns, they generally do a good job of addressing them. I think they could do a little better with activities. But overall, my loved one seems quite happy there, and she adjusted well within a couple of weeks or so.
