Come and vacation with us.

reviewed on: 08/03/2018 by Renn, Marian, and Chloe

We have been here one year and two days. It is like living on a stationary cruise ship. Can't imagine going on vacation anymore, as we have been on vacation since we got here. We have our choice of 7 places to eat everyday, with a varied menu at each. I have never been so pampered. Of course plan on gaining weight, the food is wonderful. Whatever your interest, there is a club to join, or try something new. If you have a dog, we are making plans to build a big, secure, and fun dog park. We have facilities for movies, concerts, and all kinds of games. There are pools, a state of the art wellness center, a wonderful art studio, Bible studies, a beautiful, welcoming Chapel, gift shops, post office, and if we don't have it, you can start it. We are animal and people friendly. The walking trails will get the most sedentary person walking, or plug in your power chair and visit with your new best friends. Come and let someone else mow the yard, plow your drive ways, and provide 24/7 security and medical care. Come and smile with us.

My retirement home selection

reviewed on: 07/09/2020 by John Mayers

I selected the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown as my retirement community home after visiting various other retirement communities. During my tour of the Masonic Village facilities and grounds I immediately noticed that: there were no dust bunnies on the floors of any of the facilities; no cracks in the walls and no water stains on the ceiling; no chipped, aging, and/or cracked paint; the furniture was spotless and maintained; and the Masonic Village campus was beautifully manicured and maintained. This indicated to me, and assured me, that this was an organization that cared, and was willing to invest in providing a secure and vibrant retirement community for the residents while maintaining the facilities and grounds in an admirable manner. Based on the above, I moved into my apartment a day before the Masonic Village locked down due to the COVID-19 virus. Since I was a “newby" and we were in a stay-in-place mode, I needed to quickly familiarize myself with the capabilities of the Masonic Village operational, administration, support, and maintenance staffs. Each individual I contacted had the same helpful, can-do attitude, and welcomed me to the Village. My interface with the social, medical, maintenance, and spiritual staff members at various times, has been very helpful and pleasurable. The Masonic Village organization has demonstrated the sincere concern and desire to protect the Village residents by emphasizing the recommended COVID-19 physical separation and facial protection. As a result, to date, the Village experienced only two COVID-19 cases from within the staff, and no cases from within the over 1600 retirement community residents. The friendly environment that prevails here between the residents has enabled me to meet many individuals that have been residents of the Masonic Village for over 10-15 years and more. They all have expressed their satisfaction and praise of the amenities and many activities provided by the Masonic Village. And, oh yes, hows the food? The food service has been excellent. Although the restaurants had to be closed due to the COVID-19, daily meal service has been provided. The menu has reflected the seasonal, national, and/or local calendar events and seasonal availability. Further, the meals were delivered to the resident’s door. In summary, I am very thankful that I selected the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown as my retirement community home. I recommend that you consider it as you visit the various other retirement communities. I am confident that you will not find a better retirement community than the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown.

Expectations Exceeded

reviewed on: 09/07/2019 by Bill&Carol

Over a period of several years we visited a number of retirement communities in Pennsylvania. We found nothing else that could compare to the scope and beauty of the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. Finally we moved here ten months ago. We are in out early 70s and our only regret is that we didn’t do it sooner. The physical beauty of the campus is extraordinary and gives us the feeling of being in a rural area yet with an extensive list of amenities only minutes away. The availability of activities seems almost unlimited and gives us lifestyle choices that allow us to be as busy or relaxed as we want. The quality of the food and services is excellent, and there is such a feeling of caring from the staff and other residents that we feel at peace and blessed to be part of such a wonderful community. We came here with very high expectations and they have been exceeded.

Happy Retirement at Masonic Village Elizabethtown

My father-in law has lived in the Village for over three years in a one bedroom apartment. Staff is very friendly and competent. Facilities are top notch. On site services, such as shuttle bus, allow residents to use all facilities. Residents have access to many fun activities. My father-in law participates in ceramics class and attends events featuring outside speakers. There are picnics celebrating Fourth of July and Labor Day holidays. Overall, he is happy living at the Village and has made friends with many of the other residents.

Care beyond expectancy

reviewed on: 09/09/2016 by Greatful Children

We had two of our relatives at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown for five years. They were in an apartment for two years and then our mother developed Alzheimer and was transferred to the Personal Care Unit. The care she received was far beyond what we would ever expect. When we called for information they were able to answer any question that we would have. What really amazed us was that the doctor would call from the facility and give us information on how she was doing. No matter when or what time we visited the PCU we found it to be clean, our mom to be well cared for and the staff would be especially friendly. Upon Mom's passing, the staff and residents were very caring and helped our dad. Dad developed heart problems a year after Mom passed and was transferred to the PCU. Again, all the same care was given to Dad as Mom. Up until the day he passed the staff was very caring and they adopted him as their dad. We were so pleased with the Village, that we are on the wait list to move into a cottage there.
