A community I enjoy being a part of
reviewed on: 08/22/2013 by LindaI don't think that there is anything that is perfect or 100% but I would rate them pretty high. It's pretty clean, our apartments are cleaned once a week, a housekeeper comes in and dusts and vacuums and will change the linen on our bed and give us fresh towels and things. If you use their bed linens and their towels they do that but you have the option of having your own linens but you're responsible for taking care of them (I use theirs because I like someone making my bed for me!). The staff is very friendly, in fact, everybody here is very friendly. I had been living on my own for a number of years so it the experience of learning how to be in a community has been rather educational for me and its still an ongoing process. We have 3 meals a day, we have activities and if I don't want to be sociable that day I can stay in my room, but there are some I partake in and I do enjoy them.

a few things to improve
reviewed on: 11/18/2014 by AnonymousWe're kind of new there and are still struggling to get settled in and fully transitioned. It seems like there's some things they could have done to make it a little easier. It would have been nice if they did a little more welcoming, showing her around the place, making her feel at home, etc. Otherwise though, the place is very clean and the staff is very friendly, there have just been a few small issues like those mentioned above.

reviewed on: 11/24/2014 by AnonymousThe whole experience of getting mom set up there at Somerset Lodge was done very well. The staff was incredibly accommodating. Once she was in, I do think they could have gone out of their way a little more to get her acclimated to the new environment, such as encouraging her to get involved in the activities, walking her through the process of things, etc.
We have been very pleased with Somerset Lodge!!

The staff are helping them to participate in more activities. They are nice and try very hard. This clean and well taken care of community gets my recommendation. I would also recommend A Place for Mom as they were a great help.
