The Bristal changed my mom's life!
reviewed on: 05/28/2015 by ShelleyAfter my Dad died, my mom was alone, severely depressed and a shut in. After I visited the Bristal in East Northport, I envisioned a new life for my mom. Well, the staff and residents brought my vision to a reality! Today, my mom is happy and fulfilled. She has pleasant company at her meals, and has plenty of activities to fill her days. Both the wonderful staff as well as the friendly residents made her feel welcome from the first day. The facility is beautiful and well maintained. My mom enjoys the meals, activities and trips. She is hardly ever in her room! My family is grateful to the Bristal for turning my mom's life around!
Lovely!
reviewed on: 04/17/2020 by CBThe staff at the East Northport Bristal is always kind. They always have a smile on their faces and are genuinely sweet and loving to my mom. The facility is ALWAYS spotless and beautiful to live in or visit. The only area I see occasional improvement for is the food. It is not always hot and more fresh veggies needed. The personal care and overall facility is excellent.
Difficult But Right Decision
reviewed on: 02/14/2019 by Janet MatuliaOur dad joined the Reflections group at The Bristal of East Northport two months ago and, to-date, we are very satisfied with this difficult decision. During our initial research effort, we felt that the staff we met with were genuine, honest, and extremely helpful in answering our questions. During the move-in process, all involved staff members were, again, helpful, patient, and supportive of this difficult task both on the family and the new resident. Since then, we have been happy with the number and type of activities offered to the residents on a daily basis. The aides are all pleasant, helpful, and concerned about our dad's well-being .... our visits are all unannounced. After two months our dad considers The Bristal his home.
Just Keeps Getting Better...
reviewed on: 11/29/2015 by CMAt first, Mom was a little reluctant making the move from her own home to the Bristal in East Northport, but within a few months she was "right at home". She has many friends to talk to, and she loves her apartment. She always tells me the staff couldn't be more helpful, and that they make sure there's always something to do, and the food is delicious! She's never in her room anymore...always "out" and about. I Highly recommend The Bristal, as I'm sure Mom would.
Private hire or assisted living
reviewed on: 11/24/2014 by NancyWhen my dad started needing more and more help, and his short term memory began to fail I knew he could no longer be left alone. He was insistent that he wanted to be in his own home so I hired 24 hour private help. He was home for eight months and the help we had took very good care of him, but when I evaluated how much I was spending to keep everything going and the work I was doing I realized I was working harder than anyone else. It would have been worth it if he was happy, but he told me he was a prisoner in his own house because I wouldn't let him drive and he was watching TV all day. I had already visited several assissted livings, all the big names and also some smaller independently owned places. The Bristol in East Northport was my favorite right from the start. Julie Wexler, Jasmine, and Steve were wonderful at reassuring me that Dad would fit right in. After a few visits I finally told dad he had to try it and he moved in the next week. He has been there about two months and I now have my pleasant happy father back. He loves the music, dancing, and trips. He is telling all his friends they should move in! Thanksgiving is here and I am most Thankful to all of you at The Bristol because you all helped my Dad get his smile back.
