Bristal East Northport
reviewed on: 11/02/2018 by Scott SeamonJust moved my Mom into the Bristal, East Northport the other day. The facility is beautiful, like an upscale hotel with all the amenities. Although it's really too early to evaluate my mom’s stay I was very impressed by the Staff. Paul and Bonnie, the administers, were very helpful and provided support and were very kind and understanding throughout the enrollment process. Linda and Vera were very nice and helped a lot during my mom's first couple of days. The facility aside, the real reason we selected the Bristal can be summed up in one word "BARBARA" Barbara is the Recreational Director, she is "WONDERFUL" She met my family & I to give us a tour of the facility. Normally, this is not her function at the Bristal, but, because I called only hours before we wanted to see the facility, we were accommodated and Paul and Bonnie had previous commitments. Barbara welcomed us with open arms. She has so much passion and love for the residents. This was immediately apparent as she walked us through the Bristal and was met with hugs and kisses from the residents. As she explained,” this is my family” and she really loves her job. The activities and events that she has implemented are both inventive and well thought out. The day we moved my mom was on Halloween. Barbara was dressed as Tinker Bell and Grand Marshaled a Halloween parade with the most adorable children from one of the local schools. The Residents loved it. This was followed by activities throughout the day including, entertainment, live music, and mommy wrapping in the gathering room. In my opinion, Barbara is the show case for the Bristal. There was a wait list to get my mom into the Bristal, East Northport. This was not the case for surrounding Bristal’s on Long Island or other assisted living facilities. Other assisted livings communities are just as ascetically pleasing and have the same type of accommodations. So why a wait list for the East Northport Bristal. I can only surmise it’s because of “Barbara”, her resident activities and the love she brings to the Bristal, East Northport. Good Job Bristal
Private hire or assisted living
reviewed on: 11/24/2014 by NancyWhen my dad started needing more and more help, and his short term memory began to fail I knew he could no longer be left alone. He was insistent that he wanted to be in his own home so I hired 24 hour private help. He was home for eight months and the help we had took very good care of him, but when I evaluated how much I was spending to keep everything going and the work I was doing I realized I was working harder than anyone else. It would have been worth it if he was happy, but he told me he was a prisoner in his own house because I wouldn't let him drive and he was watching TV all day. I had already visited several assissted livings, all the big names and also some smaller independently owned places. The Bristol in East Northport was my favorite right from the start. Julie Wexler, Jasmine, and Steve were wonderful at reassuring me that Dad would fit right in. After a few visits I finally told dad he had to try it and he moved in the next week. He has been there about two months and I now have my pleasant happy father back. He loves the music, dancing, and trips. He is telling all his friends they should move in! Thanksgiving is here and I am most Thankful to all of you at The Bristol because you all helped my Dad get his smile back.
A new home!

A fine assisted living facility
reviewed on: 11/25/2014 by Robert WeickMy mother recently became a resident of the Bristal at East Northport. We were also invited to have a meal there and sample the food. Our waiter, "J" was courteous and very professional. The food was wonderful. My mother has been there now for almost four months. She is basically healthy with some ambulatory problems, and she is getting the help she needs to get stronger. She has made friends and is involved in several activities, such as bingo, bridge, movie night, and "balloon volleyball". The staff is very friendly, as are the residents. We no longer worry about her living alone, and she is happy to be surrounded by people. I wuld highly recommend the Bristal to anyone who is in need of assisted living.
