Community Reviews
Nice looking community
reviewed on: 04/21/2014 by P AWe toured this location when we were looking into respite care options for my loved one. This was a nice looking place, the facility itself was clean and well kept and the staff were all very friendly. However, we discovered that in New York state respite care stays must be a minimum of 30 days, which is much longer than we were looking for. The cost is also higher than options we saw in other states.
The Bristal North Woodmere
reviewed on: 06/20/2017 by Debra WilhelmMom's move to the Bristal was accomplished in a very fast and relatively stress free environment. I owe all this to Lori McGuinness, who no matter how often I called or emailed her she always made time for our family. She was extremely sensitive to what we needed and went out of her way to help us. We chose the 1 bedroom at the last minute and it was available within 24 hours of our request. Mom has been living at the Bristal for 6 weeks now and is extremely happy. Everything from the food to the staff is exactly what we had hoped for. We are so pleased with our decision and know that our Mom is in the best assisted living home. I would highly recommend The Bristal at North Woodmere!
Very Happy at The Bristol of North Woodmere!
reviewed on: 09/30/2019 by Annette MillerWe visited several other facilities in the area but chose The Bristol at North Woodmere because it was like entering a 4 star Hotel instead of an assisted living facility. Not only is it so bright and cheerful, but the staff and all of the aides are so nice and helpful. My mother-in-law is so much happier here interacting with people rather than being in her old apartment all alone. She gets all of the assistance she needs throughout the day. Plus the wellness center has regular visits from a general practitioner, podiatrist and optometrist with a nurse on hand. Three good meals a day, movie theatre, exercise classes, hair salon and Shabbat every Friday, what more could we ask for. My mother-in-law didn't want to leave her apartment but once she took the tour and spoke to Lori the sales director who made her feel at ease and answered all of her concerns, she decided to try it and she's still there and very happy. I highly recommend the Bristol at North Woodmere.
A lovely place!!
reviewed on: 10/14/2016 by AnonymousA few of the caregivers were better than others. The rest of the caregivers were not attentive. They treated mom like she was a child. The food was mediocre. They had set dining room times. She went out to wait for me and the staff said she was wondering. I then had to hire attendants to help them watch her. I feel they over reacted and she is no longer at this community.
Food could use some improvements!!
reviewed on: 01/17/2017 by AnonymousI think the only complaint my dad had has while he was at this community was the food. He had mentioned multiple times that there was never enough choices to choose from and that it felt like they had the same meal all the time as well as the food always being very bland. Other than that I have been pleased with the quality of care he has been receiving as well as the friendliness of all the staff members.
