Community Reviews
Very friendly and accommodating staff
reviewed on: 04/22/2014 by E TThey do a great job here, overall, it's a wonderful place. The staff, from the management to the maintenance staff, are warm, caring, and friendly. It's never easy for a person to go from living in their own home to a completely new living situation, but I feel like the staff here go out of their way to ease the transition and help their new residents adjust.

Home of the Good Shepherd Moreau, NY needs improvement
reviewed on: 10/14/2017 by Concerned citizenThe first priority of any assisted living facility should be the safety of its residents....This absolutely calls for an adequate amount of nursing staff (CNAs and nurses) in order to successfully see that quality care is given. So why is it that the management of this property blatantly disregards safe staffing and makes their already strapped and exhausted employees fend for themselves to find their own relief (when someone calls in sick at the last minute??)...These people are generally already working short-staffed. This management style is both irresponsible and negligent and it confounds me how they get away with this practice time and time again. I am a family member who has observed this phenomenon for quite some time...The amount of money shelled out to this facility on a monthly basis should warrant better staffing....I understand that someone has to make some moola here in order to feel successful in the business world, but at what cost? Assisted living facilities and nursing homes across the state have (for years) fudged the numbers to make it look like the staffing ratios are safe for residents...but are they really?...The reality is something altogether different. Just think about how much quality care is needed on a daily basis for just one resident....now multiply that number times 60....don't these residents deserve adequate care at the very least??..Shame on this facility's management for not caring enough to put a better staffing plan in place.
