Quite Satisfactory
reviewed on: 09/12/2013 by JackThere is one meal a day and it's excellent. I happen to like the place. I don't know what I would ask them to do to improve it. As far as I'm concerned they're quite satisfactory. I'm not sure what they Alzheirmer's part is like. I'm going to need that soon but I don't know how it is right now. I don't participate in any of the activities so I'm not sure what they are but I know there are things available.
Impressed
reviewed on: 01/22/2016 by AnonymousVery pleasant, clean in all sections (independent living, assisted living, memory care, nursing home). I like that the ind. and assisted living have wreaths on the doors, “view boxes” outside of the doors where residents put decorations and homey/personal things. Marketing person was not available, but Director of Housekeeping did tour and was greeted with enthusiasm/affection by residents we encountered. People were not lined up in the hall in wheelchairs - they were involved in different activities in each section. My first visit to any of the facilities on my list - impressed.
50/50
reviewed on: 07/01/2019 by AnonymousIndependent Care: Almost immediately after moving in, the dining room did away with a really appetizing salad bar and stopped serving eggs at Sunday brunch. If you are sick and call for Dr. Palladino it can take more than a day and several calls before you are finally seen. Assisted Living: Some of the care givers are less than pleasant, seem to have zero patience and/or wish to listen to the residents needs in this next phase of their life. Some are a little too rough in their handling and have left marks on more than one occasion. If you bring this to anyone's attention they always find a way to blame the resident.. Skilled Nursing: Some of the caregivers will leave you lying in your own urine while they go off and do other things. It's understandable that they have a lot on their plate but laying in your own urine for too long will cause burns and should have some sort of priority. The residents have to sometimes repeat their request over and over because caregivers move on and forget the minute they leave a room. Why aren't they walking around with a book and taking notes so that they can go down their list once they are back in the office. Dr. Palladino often lets a text/call go unanswered until you follow-up; he sometimes forgets to relay messages to his staff (again, where is his book to take notes?); will not stop in to see the resident after he told you on the phone he would. He is a busy man with multiple facilities and clearly barely keeping his head above water. The residents deserve a doctor to be available to them 24/7 in this last stage of their life more so than in IL and AL. With the heft checks that we cut every month, you'd think our family member would be getting much better care. On the upside, there are some pretty amazing staff members that go above and beyond their call of duty. Many friendships have been made. The dining room is so pretty and gives you the feeling of dining out in a nice restaurant with linen napkins and daily menus. The cafe is not over priced and those ladies are so pleasant. Mail (like Amazon boxes) gets delivered quickly and efficiently. If they can get a handle on being more attentive to the needs of their residents, I'd happy give them five stars!
GREAT PLACE!!
reviewed on: 08/16/2017 by AnonymousMy sister moved to the Fountains at Cedar Parke almost 2 months ago from an apartment that had become unsafe for her. She is getting older and needed the social interaction along with the safety that me and my family find so reassuring at the Fountains. She has a physical disability also and the staff has been such a positive influence on her. We can rest easy knowing she is getting such attention, maintaining her independence and is in a safe and clean environment. Thank you so much to everyone at the Fountains at Cedar Parke!
Positive experience
reviewed on: 10/22/2021 by Linda SWe chose Allegria at the Fountains because of the close location, they are upgrading it, and the size of the apartments. He is also able to stay here as he declines in health because they offer assisted living and memory care as well. The quality of the meals have gone down a little bit in the last month just due to staffing. But the first whole month he was here he said it was amazing. [name removed] in the front office has been great, I can text her whenever and she goes above and beyond. I would recommend them to others looking.
