Community Reviews
Highly satisfied.
reviewed on: 06/22/2015 by Jim from NHMy mother stayed at this home for a few months prior to her death. The staff here treated her as their own mother with love and tenderness. Make no mistake they know their jobs and do them well but the human touch is never forgotten. I highly recommend the place!
Nicest facility in NH; Seems understaffed
reviewed on: 11/23/2015 by AnonymousMy father lives is at this facility. It seems understaffed, and some of the nurses/staff seem to not enjoy their job, but the facility is one of the nicest of its kind in the state. The social worker on staff is responsive, friendly and helpful,
Courville needs help
reviewed on: 01/24/2020 by KelliOur loved one was at Courville of Manchester for four years. It was not a great experience! If you are considering Courville of Manchester for yourself or a loved one be prepared to question everything. We did! We know that all nursing home tend to be the same, but staff and administration can make the difference. I wish I could say this was the case. When we first started at the nursing home things were okay, not great, but okay. Thank goodness we were able to be there every day. The environment needs an upgrade and cleanliness is lacking. The common areas are the newest and that is for the benefit of those touring the facility. Many times, I had to ask the staff to come in and clean the room, bathroom, remove dirty laundry and take out the trash. Care of our loved one at times was fine, as there were a couple of staff members that cared. The other staff members could not be bothered. Our loved one sat in a wet and dirty Depends, wet and dirty clothing and at times looked like she had been involved in a food fight. Our loved one was left in bed for long periods of time or left in the wheelchair without position changes. Our loved one was sometimes not fed, and a few dinners were missed. Personal items went missing (clothing). At times it appeared that someone went shopping in her closet and took what he/she wanted. Eyeglasses and hearing aides went missing or broken. Questioned staff and the response were ALWAYS “We do not know”. Injuries occurred and when asked how it happened, every single time was “We do not know”. There is never staff in the common area supervising residents. The medical staff and nurse practitioner gave medication that was not authorized. I always questioned daily the happenings and any changes. I always found things out after the fact. I was at the nursing home daily and for extended periods of time and it is scary at what occurs and the attitude of the staff. I recommend that you do extensive research and if there is something else out there then take it. Otherwise, I highly recommend being on top of everything and even that is not enough. It is to late for us, but if I/we had to do over, I would have picked another facility. I do not want lip service, I wanted care for my loved one.
