Owner's moral compass needs to be checked
reviewed on: 02/06/2021 by John CI was a resident of Whispering Pines "Independent" Living when it was located in Tx and ran by David and Janie Myers. At first glance, they were both very friendly but it didn't take long to realize that while he was she was fake. Food portions were small and PB&J sandwiches became the norm. The staff tried but she was rude to them and the residents. She would throw tantrums and slam doors. While I was independent, some of the residents weren't and the facility was not licensed. I found out they sold the facility and moved to MS where they opened Whispering Pines of Picayune. A few months ago he had told me that he was very ill.. My wife and I called and Janie answered. Said to never call or ask about him again. Sadly, he passed away at the end of January and she didn't even tell his children about it. She had no background in the business and doesn't care. It was just about the money and without his kindness or assistance I can't imagine the kind of care that is being given now.
