reviewed on: 10/27/2017 by AnonymousWhen I toured here I was met with a lot of resistance from the staff. They didn’t really give me any feedback as to why we should bring my dad here. I was drawn in by retirement building which was beautiful but I was really looking for their long-term care. The Gables, which is the assisted living, is a separate building hidden behind the retirement building. It looks completely run down. I was told by the administration that they had a really hard time keeping staff and they were lowering the bed count because they couldn’t keep the staff to stay here. I was really concerned they might have also been lowering the bed count to get rid of the building altogether. This whole experience made me really uncomfortable because it seemed like the medical staff didn’t want to be there at all. They didn’t even know the people they were caring for. There is also not a lot of English speaking staff either. My dad had a stroke and he already has a hard time being understood. All of them were temp workers because they couldn’t keep people there. The staff seemed really overworked and their attitudes were being affected because of this. The nicest employees I met were the people cleaning the floors. The inside of the building is a whole other story. When you walk in, you literally have to hold your breath. It’s exactly what a nursing home would look like and smell like. It is absolutely filthy. When I visited one time it was almost 2 hours after lunch and there were trays and dirty dishes lying around everywhere. I tried to visit 5 or 6 times and it never changed. I would never recommend this facility.
