They are really good!
reviewed on: 02/18/2014 by GeraldIt's very clean, it was virtually brand new. They do have activities going on but she doesn't participate much. She loves the food, the food is good. I can't think of anything to be improved. They are really good!
Definitely recommended
reviewed on: 02/26/2014 by L. HvizdosThis is from my perspective...however since my 96 year old mother is checking herself out Friday...against my wishes...she would give a different point of view. She wanted to go home and took very little part of any activities, so it's hard to judge that. From what I observed from the calendar, there were plenty of opportunities to take part. I do have a complaint about the communication. The chestnut address is on all of their stationery...but that is not the address of my Mother's building. Getting a phone hooked up, paper delivered caused a delay because no one had the other address. I contacted the director of all the facilities, but he wasn't too sympathetic.
Beware!
reviewed on: 12/26/2014 by n/aFacility looks beautiful however it is very deceiving. Most of the staff is very nice but they are always understaffed (especially on week ends)! They are liscensed as a foster care not an assisted living therefore the staff is not required to be certified. This includes the staff that hands out meds. They have made several mistakes with my mothers meds in the last few months. Deb is the only nurse for the facility and she works mon- fri . She is usually gone by 4:00. The rooms are rarely cleaned well and laundry is done by the same staff that hands out meds when they have time. ( sometimes only once a week) They have a cleaning person but I have only witnessed her vacuuming the hallways and helping residents at mealtime ( I have never witnessed anyone cleaning rooms) They make a lot of false statements when you discuss moving someone in. I would strongly recommend anyone concidering this place do some research it is not as great as it first appears!
More than a disappointment
reviewed on: 07/17/2019 by Unhappy FamilyThis was our first experience with assisted living so our family was somewhat naive and trusting. The facility itself is beautiful but that’s it. The administrator is very immature and inexperienced in managing anything and it shows! You will be told what you want to hear but there won’t be any consistent care given or follow through. We often had to request meetings with her regional boss to be heard and that didn’t even help! Our loved one has dementia and therefore can’t accurately tell us about the neglect she was experiencing. Once we starting watching the details we were horrified. Medications were not given correctly, dietary instructions were not followed, the standard of care (changing briefs or offering toileting) was not consistently done, exclusion from activities or no activities at all. The list goes on. If your loved one can communicate clearly to you and is quite mobile requiring little to no special care, maybe but why take a chance? The aging process requires more and more care not less and Chestnut Fields will let you down. Don’t do it! We have recently moved our loved one and are finally experiencing what good care is all about.
Meaningful
reviewed on: 04/26/2019 by AnonymousSad to say the administer doesn’t know what she is doing. The staff is great. Unfortunately my parent experienced a dog in the dining room relieving himself. The administrator is rude speaks about personal problems openly so all can hear. Will never recommend this facility.
