Into the snow he goes and into Angels he is loved!
reviewed on: 07/28/2019 by Brian RossMy father was here for exactly one month. It was wonderful when the staff knew that we were private pay. But when they found out that he was a small amount of work the story changed. They said he was bothering other residents, yet he only left his room when the staff brought him out. Usually the staff was very short with him, when we were there. How was it when were gone? Then one day the administrator called me and said that he had to go. That was at 4:00pm. I said give me a few days to find a place. She had one picked already. The next day I started looking. It ended up that the facility she chose, I also chose. The best thing that could have happened. When I contacted the administrator and told her the move could happen, I had planned the next day since it was already almost 5:00pm. Well she had different plans. She contacted the new place and made arrangements for that night. First thing she had his bed sent back to the rental company within an hour. The new place didn't have a bed yet. By now it was after 6:00 and nobody has contacted our family. His bed was gone too and they had his things packed. About 8:30 pm they called me and said he was ready to go. I was furious, as it was dark, cold and a snowstorm of about 6". My wife and I went to get him and thank God the new place was just getting a bed at 9:00pm. When we walked in the door at Gross, my dad was sitting in a wingback chair, slumped over and completely unattended!! We went to his room took what we could that he needed that night, grabbed a wheelchair and got him into the car, in a snowstorm and took him to the new facility. When we left that night, we were never acknowledged that we were there. Not a word was spoken at all. The next day I went back to get the rest of his belongings and again not one word was said to me, by anyone! It was about 10:00am and their full staff was there and not one word spoken! I was so mad that I didn't say one word. It would not have been pretty and I needed to attend to my dad, not getting arrested! They also never even mentioned $2495. as the rate. We paid $3900. and they wanted the deposit and next month too. That all happened the day before Christmas. They were the most rude, mean, shotty group of people I have ever dealt wIth. It seemed and felt as though if you were not female, high class looking, BITCHY and had a nice bank account that you would not belong there. I am sorry, but my family doesn't flaunt what we have! We like to think that we flaunt our love, care and concern to others. Caring for others! Or about others. We took him that night to Angel Manor and they were wonderful! We could not ask for better care, concern and love for our father. He did pass away there about 2 months later and because of the care he received, we know that it was peaceful and his family and his new found caregivers were all there!
