the perfect place for mom
reviewed on: 01/05/2021 by carol KIt's a smaller community and I feel the residence get more one-on-one attention. It's very homey, and they don't have a schedule with dining. if you want to eat early or late they will make things for you when you want them. It's very caring and nurturing. Communication is excellent and I would recommend this community to others. They have private furnished rooms and that made our move so easy.

Peace of Mind
reviewed on: 05/25/2021 by AnonymousI would tell others that it is a small community. The owners are very involved in running the community and caring for the residents. The staff are very good about getting the residents to appointments. If there are any health concerns they are quick to work with them. All the communication is with the owners. The owner is always available to email.
Not a place for your loved one
reviewed on: 01/01/2015 by AnonymousSince the last review in 2012, conditions have changed dramatically at Ledgeview. The majority of the staff are not trained in elder care and have no idea nor skills to tend to the dying. My father-in-law was punished for his eating practices, but the staff had no idea that he was dementia eating. He was given two choices - sit by self or isolation and eat in his room. Never mind that he was depressed and then to isolate him away from the other residents was not acceptable. We have discovered that the owners do not do background checks on the employees, so that does not give one a sense of security. When he needed medication at end of life care, they were locked up in a cabinet and we needed to call the owner to get the key to access the medicine. We know that there was stealing going on in regards to medication and resident's personal items. Thank goodness for his hospice care. On a particular week-end, he was left sitting in his soiled diaper for at least 6 hours as the on-call staff knew hospice would be coming in the afternoon and they did not see the need to clean him up. Absolutely unacceptable. In his last hours, we had him transported to the Gosnell Home where he died with respect, dignity and loving care. I would never have another family member live in this place. There was no respect and dignity extended to our family during this difficult time.
