General Review regarding Asbury Gardens
reviewed on: 11/10/2018 by Sandra L. Haimann, Caregiver for Gail MasiulewiczFor the most part I think Asbury Gardens does a very good job and are very competent. The criticism I have is of the Food Menus or lack thereof. In the past they had a very incompentent chef, but that I understand has been corrected. However, there is still not enough attention paid to offering their inhabitants proper diet for their medical conditions. There is still too much pork, ham and gravy put on all meals which all of us know is not good for diabetics. They do not offer a separate menu for diabetics. Consequently, if you are diabetic because of their inactivity, you will gain weight because of the carbs which then increases sugar and weight gain which then impacts other medical condiditions
An Okay Facility
reviewed on: 11/25/2015 by AnonymousThere is not a lot of communication that comes back when I ask questions. Sometimes I feel like I have to pester and hound to get a response. The activities are a little repetitive. There is just a lack of information and also conflicting information.
This community is not for everyone
reviewed on: 12/13/2016 by AnonymousMom was only in this community for about a month before we realized she needed more care than they were able to provide. The community does offer daily activities. She liked the food and The community was kept clean. The staff were nice. I would recommend this community.
2nd Choice
reviewed on: 11/20/2017 by AnonymousWe really liked this community. It was just a little further away from the family. We had appointment for the tour but had to wait for them. The staff seemed overwhelmed maybe a little understaffed. They had good activities and clean community. They do accept medicaid which is a plus.
We toured this community
reviewed on: 11/28/2017 by AnonymousWe went on a tour and it was good. The staff was knowledgable and answered all of our questions. The memory care here looked more institutionalized. It was a clean and nice community.
