Learn more about assisted living records in Illinois and how you can learn the most about a potential community to find the best home for yourself or a loved one.

Public Records and License Status

Illinois provides open access to records of licensed assisted living facilities online. Despite the information not being searchable online, Illinois has above average transparency into assisted living information.

To access a list of licensed assisted living providers in Illinois, visit the licensed establishments site. To learn more detailed information about the background of each provider, go to the Illinois’ Information Reports on Long-Term Care Facilities.

Violations and Resident Protection

Illinois provides an updated list of licensed assisted living facilities online. They also post information regarding violations, complaint, survey results and inspections, although that information does not appear to be updated as regularly. Additionally, they provide special licensing information and capacity information for facilities. They do not provide payment types accepted at facilities, pricing or contact information for the communities.
Illinois performs inspections every 24 months and does have the ability to fine facilities when necessary.
