Assisted Living Rules and Regulations in Georgia

There is a lot to consider when it comes to choosing an assisted living community for yourself or a loved one. Many states offer insight into licensed communities and their detailed history, but the access to that information differs in each state. Take a closer look at accessibility and transparency of assisted living records in Georgia.

Public Records and License Status

With one of the more user friendly sites, Georgia provides a high level of accessibility and transparency in assisted living records.  To find records and detailed information about licensed facilities in Georgia visit GAMap2Care and then select “GAMap2Care” and then choose “Search for Personal Care Homes”.

Violations and Resident Protection

Georgia provides an online list of licensed assisted living facilities in a searchable format. In the same place, consumers can search for a facility’s inspection results, survey results, complaints and violations. Both the list of licensed assisted living facilities and the violations are updated regularly (within 90 days).

While the state does not provide information about special licensing, payment types accepted at facilities or the price of a facility, they do show capacity information and contact information. Inspections are completed every 24 months and the state of Georgia can fine a facility.
