It's a nice community and all and she's pretty happy there now, she's made the adjustment.
reviewed on: 01/02/2014 by FamilyIt's a nice community and all and she's pretty happy there now, she's made the adjustment. It's a nice place and the people are really good there. It's very clean there. Compared to everything else we looked at I would say it's a good value. Whenever she has a problem or question they are always right there to help. They are working toward more activities. My mother is very independent and they are geared more toward people in walkers and wheelchairs. They don't have a lot of activities outside of there, they only have one van, they used to have three, they will run you around, but just to the grocery store or the department store that's it. They do have people come in but nothing really to get out, no tours or trips to restaraunts. The food has been very good but the restaraunt has switched hands and the quality has gone down a little bit. Location was big factor in choosing a community. Its very nice, it's a clean place, it's gated at night. It's a nice atmosphere really. She's very happy over there. Overall the place is really nice and my mother has made the adjustment. Everything is included in the rent price cable, phone, everything, coffee and donuts in the morning for everyone, even the lunch meal and they have a lot of selections at lunch like 3-4 choices.
The Brentwood Story
reviewed on: 04/29/2020 by AnonymousThe Brentwood Story Good afternoon, my name is Mary Swingler. I am a retired educator in poor health, who is latent-deaf. Inspite of these challenging circumstances, I am grateful to be a resident of Brentwood Retirement Community and Assisted Living Facility in Lecanto, Florida. Why am I grateful?I am delighted to answer this question with several examples in straightforward, honest details. My analysis of Brentwood Retirement Community and Assisted Living Facility is not without bias. But it will be completely accurate, fair and honest. Two years ago I was recovering from a car accident, at Oak Hill Hospital in Spring Hill, FL. I had been homeless for months and living in my car. I had only some clothes and a car that was totaled. The hospital was reluctant to discharge me without a safe place to go. They sent out an SOS message to all health care and retirement communities within a 100 mile radius. The message asked if anyone or any place was willing and able to help a 70 year old hospital patient who needed safe affordable housing. Of all the many communities and facilities that received this request for help, guess how many responded? Only one. Only Brentwood Retirement Community and Assisted Living Facility along with the Brentwood Health and Retirement Center answered this call for help. Crystal, the Care Liaison at Brentwood Retirement Community and Assisted Living Facility together with Sue, the admissions director of the health care and rehabilitation center at Brentwood came to the hospital to talk with me. They came to help, they were the answer to my prayers. They offered me time and the opportunity to receive the therapy vital to my recovery. Crystal had a small studio apartment in the retirement community that was affordable and would be available as soon as I was discharged from the rehab center. Their generous assistance gave me a new life, filled me with hope instead of despair, joy instead of tears, a home that was safe and secure, instead of the uncertain dangers of homelessness. Crystal received support and approval to furnish my little apartment with furniture, bedding and linens that I did not have. My new residential neighbors gave me dishes, bowls, glassware and silverware that I needed. I sincerely appreciate the many kindnesses that were bestowed on me. I lost the health insurance I previously had when I moved to Citrus county. It would take time to re-establish healthcare benefits under a new policy. I required medicine, tests to monitor the status of my health immediately. Allen Curtis, the Executive Director of the entire Brentwood Retirement Community and Assisted Living Facility was instrumental in arranging for my immediate health care needs to be covered until my new and permanent health plan became effective. Allen also applied for a drug discount card, on my behalf, to curtail the costs of my medicines. What I hope you readers recognize from my detailed examples, is that the defining and distinguishing features of Brentwood Retirement Community and Assisted Living Facility are the remarkable people who work here. This community and the people who care for us residents are the benchmark standard of excellence. You may be thinking that other communities and facilities have caring administrators and directors as well. In all truthfulness, I don’t know for sure; I would think they should and probably do I can tell you truthfully that the cost of living at these other places is much higher than the cost of living here at Brentwood. The plush décor, the new and fancy transportation vehicles and the gourmet meals they provide are very expensive. For me they are unnecessary and overrated. For me, luxury, glitz and glamour are just a showy display that does not enhance the quality of care, enrich, promote, or extend my life in any way at all. Healthy nutritious meals, a warm and homey atmosphere is far more beneficial than any superficial furnishings will ever be. To what extent or degree these other places and people provide generous and unselfish care, I am not sure. But I can attest unequivocally to these irrefutable facts. Rosalie Gosselin, Deb Talbot, Diana Lowell, Dionne and Vicki, Mark Nelson Cheryl Newell and Brandon Mayotte are endowed with abundant characteristics such as humanitarianism, patience, dedication and love. There are countless others that you will meet when you come for a visit and hopefully decide this is the best place to live. These hardworking individuals lavish attention, concern, time and effort on every resident, whenever and wherever the need arises. Brentwood is the epitome of quality health care, inspiring and life enhancing services as well as selfless resident-focused care that insures a safe and healthy environment at a reasonable and affordable cost for everyone. Brentwood is the complete and total living package. This complete and balanced arrangement is meticulously maintained by the men and women who work diligently for the welfare and wellbeing of all the residents. During this Covid 19 pandemic, we have had all our meals nutritionally and safely prepared and hand delivered to us daily, without additional costs to the residents. The extra effort is displayed with joy and smiles to boost our spirits. Crystal Petrucci and Elise Green deliver loving hugs and thoughts through cards and gifts of simple goodies to all the residents. These procedures are established to maintain the highest levels of health and safety during this crisis. Brentwood Retirement Community and Assisted Living Facility is the ultimate loving environment and the special place we call home. This is my genuine, precise and true analysis, with just and fair commentary , which is the result of personal experiences and personal knowledge. Thank you for taking the time to read the Brentwood Story.
Brentwood ALF review
reviewed on: 11/03/2014 by AnonymousGenerally a good alternative to nursing home. Meals are resturaunt style and are usually good, the facility has a large common area for residents so they do not have to stay in their rooms, and the staff is usually caring and responsive.
Good Care
reviewed on: 12/11/2013 by SonThe care is good. They are doing a good job. Both of my parents are there, but my mom is in assisted living and my dad is in rehab. The rehab is real good; I like the care that they provide. The food is very good.
