A little expensive

This place was fine. It was clean and the people were nice and everything but the cost was a little bit to much for my mother-in-law.

I Wish They Were More Responsive

reviewed on: 10/08/2013 by Sister-in-Law

I don't live nearby so I haven't been there often. My opinion is really more in terms of communication. my sister-in-law is there. I'm her POA and I'm not sure how she's doing. I call them and I don't always hear back and when I do hear back it's different from what her neighbor tells me how she is. They weren't very good in terms of getting her settled in. When she moved there they said they were going to be with her the first day and weren't with her and didn't really show her around. The so-called ambassadors didn't really reach out to her. No one took her to lunch, she didn't know where to sit. I didn't realize it was going to be so hands off. That's my main concern - I don't know how she's doing. I think it's a nice place but when you're not there to monitor the situation you really don't know. and they there' not good about responding to emails and phone calls. She's probably doing as well as can be expected. I think we'll work it out.

I toured with Sandi on 8/30. The facility is undergoing some remodeling to replace the pink walls and floral carpets. There wasn't a design board available, but I'm sure it will be nice. I saw residents in the dining room during their dinner hour and they all seemed quite happy and content. A major benefit of this facility is that it is in close proximity to me and easily accessible, has covered parking for visitors, and is located near CPMC. I would request an inside room because of the noise from the street. Sandi mentioned a special program that my Mom might qualify for that would reduce the cost, but one would have to already reside at Coventry and it could take awhile for a special priced unit to become available. Michael, the facility's Director, also spoke with me, which I appreciated. I would select this facility aside from cost concerns.

This one has potential and if I don't see something else that knocks it down the list then we will look at this one again when my Mom is here in July.

Hospital Environment

reviewed on: 08/09/2013 by Don

I woud give them a three because it was somewhat better than some of the others but I never saw a room there. It was still like living in hospital like environmnet. The did have an Alzheimer's unit and dining on each floor.
