Community Reviews
Helpful Staff!!
reviewed on: 07/24/2017 by AnonymousI have no complaints about the tour I had taken at this community for my loved one. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions we had for them in detail. They had a nice activity list put together for all of the residents as well as a tasty menu. I thought they had a clean property and did a nice job maintaining the building. It was just not the right fit in the end decision for my aunt.
Excellent care
reviewed on: 08/29/2019 by KathyWe placed my mother on August 5, 2019, after she was removed from another community. My mother passed away on August 25, 2019. We were not pleased with the care she previously received. Our decision to move her was an excellent decision. The staff was superior. Mom was in memory care, and she was an exiter, someone who constantly sought to return to her home, the home of her childhood. Staff was patient, kind and attentive. Mom wanted nothing but to go home. Her dementia caused behavioral issues but the staff understood and worked with her. They accepted her disease and worked to make her time better. Mom fired them, she told them she owned the building yet they respected her and met her where she was in her disease. They didn't mock her or make fun of her disease or its symptoms. She was always clean. She liked the foods they prepared. The building had no odor. She received her medications in a timely manner, and her room was cleaned. Everything they did they focused on her comfort. Most importantly they didn't treat her as a victim of Alzheimer's but a person, as a mother, a friend. Our family only has good words for this community. They told us they understood the disease process, and they did. Her last days were filled with kindness, compassion, and dignity. I wish we would have placed her there sooner. It is wonderful, the administrator (Melissa) and her team deserve accolades for delivering on their promises.
The best days are yet to come
reviewed on: 06/27/2019 by Bob DornackerThe entire staff is dedicated to the well-being of their residents. My father was reluctant to leave his home after more than sixty years. It was the best move he could have made. I believe it has added years to his life.
helpful and accommodating
reviewed on: 11/13/2015 by AnonymousThe staff at Ridgewood are very helpful and accommodating. They made the transition easy for her. Other places are the same price or more and not near as good as this facility. I like the space that she has, it's just very very nice. One thing that made her feel good is the first day down in the dining room the chef came out and told her that this wasn't just him serving and she has to eat what he serves. He told her she can have the food the way she wants it. That made her feel good because she has struggled with her appetite but that has gotten better. She has ample storage space and has given her the chance to keep seasonal items. That has really made it feel like home for her. It has been a very good experience.
couldn't go outside
reviewed on: 11/12/2015 by AnonymousThe only thing I didn't like about Ridgewood is it was on second floor and they couldn't go outside. It was secure and the residents cant get out. It just wasn't the right facility for my husband.
